Missing in Action: The following keys from my keyboard; V, A, C, A, T, I, O, N

(ed. Backed date post to January 29th. Written February 2nd.)

This is more of a personal post: I haven’t posted for the past few days, and I bet some of you are wondering why… Ok. I have to tell the truth: It’s hard but I can do it. I think.

These past four days: I’ve been looking for seven keys from my computer keyboard. They vanished one night while I was sleeping. There was no evidence of a break-in or anything.

I’ve searched high and low for them, but they didn’t show up at home or school. The missing keys are: A A C I N O T V. So I spent the last five days travelling the island of Taiwan in search of them. I mean, really you can’t type much without these keys.

Yu rell * ype muh whu hem. Translated: You really can’t type much without them.

I’ll be bringing you upto date shortly on what happened to these keys, and where they were located, and how I found them. You’ll be glad to know that I’m typing normally in this message, as I found them ALL.

Beringer’s White Zinfandel 2006: light, delicious and refreshing

white zinfandel 2006

This post starts a series of posts on this blog called “The Finer Things in Life” (or should it be subtitled “Life’s guilty little pleasures”?)

Step up #1 in the list: Beringer’s 2006 White Zinfandel. We found them at Costco in Taipei City, and purchased several of them. Each time I have found them to be consistent in flavor, delicious and inexpensive.

The Beringer Website notes

The nose has lovely floral notes that are reminiscent of the wonderfully refreshing Spumante’s of Italy, with citrus and strawberry fruit nuances. The palate begins with a nice, classic “mousse” mouthfeel, and strawberry, brown spice and citrus flavors interplay with a refreshing acidity that carries everything into a long, delicious finish.

While it was recommended to eat with pasta, chicken and seafood, we tried it with steak and salad. It went well because the steak was lightly cooked and served with salad and other lighter foods. Ideal for summer food! But then I’m no expert!

Priced at $6.00 on the website, I can’t really remember what we paid. I’ll update that when I find the receipt. It was about NT$269, I think… but I could be wrong. So don’t forget to pick one up on the way home.

Typhoon Weather: October 5th and 6th.

I’m used to posting daily updates on this website, but unfortunately on October 5th~6th, Taiwan is facing a large and powerful Typhoon (or Tropical Storm) … It has heavy winds and rains, so it’s possible that my DSL connection to InvestorBlogger may be lost for a few days. We already have had most things canceled for the day, and possibly Sunday, too. One of the local coffee shops was open just downstairs from my apartment. I slipped down to buy a coffee, and got completely drenched in just a few minutes… That’s how heavy the rain is.

While I have lost my camera, I couldn’t make any typhoon movies, I’ll leave you with this video: So if you aren’t getting new posts, please bear with me and check out my past posts in the archive. Or search for your posts that might interest you, such as making money, etc.
