September 2008 Income Statements

In previous issues of InvestorBlogger Dot Com, I published a combined income statement across all of my ‘businesses’. With the new channels, this became a little confusing as I wasn’t sure where to place certain categories of income.

From this month, I’ll be publishing separate accounts for each type of income. Also, I promised that I would work on a cash received basis. In fact, both accounts will be treated differently for obvious reasons.

  • Dollar Traveler will publish income created from offline means: business, investing, bank interest, rental, etc.. Accounting will be cash received basis.
  • Blogging Travails will focus on online sources of income that I have used: advertising services, blogging, online sales, hosting, etc.

If you want to monitor the totals, you will have to do a little detective work yourself as I may no longer publish the totals. However this money is accounted, I will still be focusing on the principles outlined in my post at the beginning of the year.

To Blog on the Go: Acer AspireOne

Bloggers who are addicted to blogging really need good equipment to help them get the job done. But what do you do when you’re away from home?

Presenting the AcerAspire One.

P1020221

This is my new on-the-go laptop: small, light, and running XP it provides almost all the stuff I need to blog with. The kit you see here is the AspireOne, the SanDisk Cruzer, and a simple Skype phone from Lobos. With the price of international calls, finding a wi-fi spot with open access or a hotel with wi-fi or broadband, and you’ll be able to call anywhere conveniently.

To find out more about this unit: Acer Aspire One 8.9-inch Mini Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) White click on the link to visit Amazon.

Once I get back to Taiwan, I think that adding a couple of neat dongles would significantly improve this device: a USB GPS tracker, and a mobile wireless service. Travel anywhere would become significantly easier, and you’d be able to create a kind of SatNav system, too, courtesy of Google Maps.

I had thought about purchasing the Linux model, but LiveWriter and BlogDesk are my favorite blogging applications, so that made it an obvious choice. For the mobile blogger, this would mean that we could blog anywhere, anyhow. Perhaps even with a live broadcast!

Are you selling your blog? I’m interested…

I’m looking to buy a blog (or blogs) with content and some traffic. The suggested blog focus is similar to one of my existing themes categories or topics, I may be interested:

First does your blog meet these requirements?

#1 Must be self-hosted and running some version of WordPress (not WordPress.com)
#2 Must be unique posts (ie. not published elsewhere).
#3 Traffic levels at least 100 visitors a month on average.
#4 PR is not required, though.
#5 Monetization Stats are NOT required.
#6 English Language Blogs Only.

Please comment me with information, or contact me, or email me ( investorblogger @ gmail dot com), suggested pricing and availability. I will be buying the content, the domain and anything else you care to include. I will negotiate the price with you.

This would be ideal for a blogger who is giving up their blog and/or would like to sell their blog and is concerned about selling: I plan to maintain the original blog and begin adding to the archives again. Any Questions?

I will examine deals that I receive: if you think your blog is suitable, why not drop me a line?
