BuzzFEST#7: Mummified Times Five

After taking something of a little break since I ‘re’discovered the future posting function, I’m now back on the blog, and posting the next in my series of 30 Blogbuzzes, “Mummified Times Five “! As a busy mother of five (hence the title of her blog!), I’m surprised Tina finds the time to blog at all, given her large family and numerous other hobbies!

mummified

The blog covers a wide range of topics, perhaps too wide a range, including core topics such as ‘blog stuff’, ‘children’, ‘family’, ‘just me’ and one or two others. I would suggest that you consolidate some of the categories with just one or two posts. When your categories have more than half a dozen posts, then you can break out the posts into individual categories. Overall, I noted 10 primary categories with that number of posts or more! Currently you have 33 categories!

I found some good posts here, especially the first one which echoed my own experience as I just passed the first year mark. It seems that we’re both getting into our swing now. I guess if you want to succeed, you have to have diligence and application, as well as a vision of what you want to achieve. Clearly, Tina is thinking about these kinds of things, too. Good on you.

One suggestion, though. Perhaps it’s not a good idea to put your PPP Direct button on the top of your sidebar. Create a separate ‘advertise’ page for such information or move important content to that position. It seems that you could use that space to create a much better impression for your readers. BTW, did you ever get any business through the PPP Direct button? I never did, so I removed it.

Looking forward to reading some of your other posts as I discover them!

LiveHuman.com: installs quickly and manages easily

Selling on websites for many kinds of businesses is much tougher than it first appears. I know this from affiliate marketing. It’s difficult to get new visitors to purchase. One of the biggest reasons is actually that much of such online purchasing happens without human contact taking place, whether it is on eBay or Amazon or any of dozens of other websites.

Somehow, newer shoppers need the hand holding or reassurance that goes with human contact. Online this is often difficult to replicate exactly, but the online world does offer its own equivalents, through forums, email, im, and so on.

Recently, onsite live chat with sales or support has created an extra opportunity to reach out to customers and convert even more of those visitors. Naturally, getting the chance to review this service intrigued me when LiveHuman Chat started promoting their services. LiveHuman Chat offers support chat services for online companies that are needing that little extra on their website to boost sales and provide better customer support.

You’ve probably tried out Live Chat services on some websites, such as hosting companies, and more progressive smaller and medium sized companies, though I have yet to see it on some of the larger companies. I have also used it on several occasions and found it efficient and quick to get the information I wanted, and I was able to make a much more informed decision.

What is LiveHuman?

LiveHuman is simply an online chatting service that can be configured easily and quickly on the client’s site to provide support and pre-/after-sales care for your customers. As the entire service is hosted elsewhere, you only need a line of HTML code pasted into the code of your website. From that, the entire service is made available without extensive technological skills.

You are looking at the IM window image, taken from the company’s own website. Its appearance is quite reminiscent of IM interfaces, so users will already be familiar with the functions and capabilities. There shouldn’t be much of a learning curve for them on this at all.

Installation, Management and Benefits

On the owner’s site, the information is logged and and monitored with records being easily available as well enabling support and sales staff to go back and check discussions.

For small businesses that could make the best use of this, the pricing is affordable though of course you will have to factor into this the cost of hiring support staff (part-time or full-time) as well.

The capabilities and benefits of such a system on your website:

  1. increasing your sales because someone can answer questions and interact with potential customers (who won’t then go off and seek less reliable information on bulletin boards and forums elsewhere);
  2. existing customers will be able to get immediate help instead of relying on emails or more traditional ticket-based support systems;
  3. and the additional ease of installation won’t impact your own technical department unduly as you won’t have extra servers to maintain or websites and applications to debug or test.

It’s difficult to imagine this not being useful or affordable for an SME. In fact, for the really enterprising, the system could be expanded to deal with not just clients or customers, but also employees, student queries, and anywhere where speedy, accurate and online help can benefit significantly large groups of people. Why stop at just sales?

BuzzFEST#6: Before I am famous – “learning how to fly”

Next in my series of 30 Blogbuzzes is “Before I am Famous“! The graphic on the front page is quite odd, it makes me wonder why the author chose that image … The blog itself is written by a “J. Scott“. The title made me think of the theme song to the Hit TV show ‘Fame’, one of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid!

Fame!
I’m gonna live forever.
I’m gonna learn how to fly,
High!
I feel it coming together,
People will see me and cry
Fame!

And on to the blog, … introducing ‘Before I am Famous“…

famous

There are a large number of categories in her blog, covering a lot of personal writing, domestic matters, fashion, shopping and travel. For my readers, I”ve chosen Cool Blogs and Money as linked categories for you to try out! Today, she’s just finished reorganising her blog, so it’s a great opportunity to visit and see the new ‘cleaner’ look!

Suggestions: Specific Blog, Own Domain Name, and URL!

Given that much of her blog is devoted to her personal writings, I feel that it would be a good idea to separate her work (her portfolio) at some point from her other bloggings and stuff! That would give readers a sense that her writing (poetry, stories and essays) can stand on its own. But if it is included in amongst posts for news, shopping, furniture and other stuff, it seems less important!… Just my thoughts. I’d recommend also having your own domain name, as Argus is coming, and that may make things easier for Payperpost work. Also, why is the title of the blog different from the address of the blog! It would make it easier to remember if it were the same.
