Useful Tips: Alt+(Shift)+V for WordPress

By | May 16, 2007

Thanks to Syaf the Geek I found this great tip for using WordPress with the visual toolbar.

Take a look at the image, and you can see an extra set of icons, some of which went missing in the new version of WordPress. But lo! There they are. Look just below the ‘B‘ and you’ll see them.

So how do you get these extra buttons? It’s easy, thanks to JustSome dot com

Windows Firefox: Alt+Shift+V (Firefox)
Windows Internet Explorer: Alt+V (Internet Explorer)
Mac OS X Firefox: Ctrl+V

The buttons are for the following functions!

  • Text styles
  • Underline
  • Full paragaph alignment
  • Text coloring
  • Two varieties of paste (text and Word)
  • Formatting removal
  • Code cleanup
  • Custom character insertion
  • Undo/redo

I missed several of these, so I’m glad to find them! I just wonder what other tricks there are in WordPress that I don’t know.
